The graduation took place on May 25th, 2016.
Certificates, followed by IB Awards and Sports Awards were presented.
Two special recognition were: Aisha Mohamed received the Language Award in honor of “Little Esther” from Ms. Kristen Okada. Lagos Kunga, ICS alumnus, presented Nejat Omardin with the Jeff Newbury Award, in recognition of the valuable commitment made by former DDY Director of Coaching, Jeff Newbury. Congratulations to both.
It was great to welcome back Sandra Manhan, ICS alumna and now student at Emory University, as the Keynote speaker.
IB Exhibition, May 12
One more time, the 5th grade students, guided by their teachers and mentors, culminated their PYP (Primary Years Programme) experience with flying colors. They explored environmental topics like water conservation, the Amazon rain forest, and global warming. Social issues like homeless animals and people’s stereotypes.They expressed themselves through art, soccer, and architecture.
Thu Htoo Aung and Aye Hee designed the t-shirt students and mentors wore.
5th grade went on a trip to the Driftwood Education Center to St. Simon‘s Island in February.
