Celebrating a year of growth with the Beloved Community Fund – now parent-led!
We’re thrilled to celebrate the first anniversary of the Beloved Community Fund, now proudly led by our dedicated parents! This milestone reflects our shared commitment to fostering a strong, inclusive community where everyone at ICS can flourish.
The Beloved Community Fund is a school-wide monthly giving campaign that makes it possible for ICS students to receive a world-class education. These recurring donations, set up like a subscription payment, provide holistic support year-round, covering needs beyond our regular budget—such as staff appreciation, classroom supplies, professional development, field trips, and bus expenses. This fund bridges the gap between district funding and the actual costs of delivering quality education tailored to the needs of our refugee, immigrant, and local students.
Every gift makes a difference.
- $5/month – Provides coffee and donuts for staff—an encouraging way to say thank you!
- $10/month – Covers entry fees for 10 students to attend a play at the Alliance Theater.
- $20/month – Supports professional development workshops for teachers.
- $40/month – Funds lunch for staff during training sessions.
- $100/month – Pays for bus expenses for a student field trip.
While these costs may seem small, they have a big impact on our teachers, staff, students, and their families. This is especially important this year because the additional funding we received during the COVID-19 pandemic has been fully spent and accounted for. We are back to operating with our normal budget, which is tight. While basic academic expenses are covered by student funding, we must fundraise for all the extra programs and activities that enrich our community experience.
As we begin Charting New Territory this school year, we are relying on our circle of allies, advocates, and champions to help meet these needs! Together, we are working towards a bold vision—to become a model Community School, serving 600 students in grades K-5, while exploring expansion into Early Learning and Middle School programs.
Would you consider joining other ICS parents, staff, and community members in making a monthly donation to the Beloved Community Fund? By doing so, you’ll become part of a powerful movement that is shaping the future of ICS.
We’re grateful to have you with us on this Transformational Journey!
