135 pairs of Mizuno running shoes delivered, and $4,000 awarded for a great cheer!
On October 5, staff from Atlanta Track Club (including Kilometer Kids Program) came to our school to measure students’ feet: the grant for shoes that Ms. Dawn applied for, had been awarded. As a result, the 136 students who participate in the Kilometer Kids running program after school, were getting new running shoes.
On November 16, they came back to deliver the Mizuno shoes! We want to extend our gratitude to Atlanta Track Club, Sue Payne and Joshua Deaton for their support.
During the early morning of October 23, about 60 adults and students organized a great INTERNATIONAL cheer for the runners of the ATC/PNC 10 Miler Race. They run along 10 miles, and 10 groups compete to be the best cheer. ICS parents, staff members, volunteers, students and alumni cheered, played drums and showed their enthusiasm.
After the race, organizers and runners voted, and awarded ICS with 2nd place and $4,000! This was possible thanks to Ms. Dawn organizing the event, and all those who came out. Thank you!
