This month, ICS will participate in the “Let’s Talk” initiative. This is a national public education campaign coordinated by Advocates for Youth, encouraging community agencies, religious institutions, businesses, schools, media, parent groups and health providers to plan programs and activities which encourage parent/child communication about puberty and growing up.

5th grade parents are invited to join ICS community volunteer, Navvab McDaniels, MPH, as she facilitates a workshop especially for parents and caregivers on becoming comfortable talking with your kids about puberty and growing up. Ms. McDaniels has two decades of experience talking about health and puberty with students of all ages and their parents.

If you have questions about when to begin talking with your kids about puberty and how to keep the conversation going, this workshop is for you. This will take place in the ICS Media Center on Wednesday, October 28 at 6:00pm.
