Last year, the annual theme for of ICS was Dream and Discover. For 2024-25, ICS continues its work guided by the new theme of Charting New Territory. Fran Carroll, Executive Director, shares what it means for our school and the journey ahead!
Welcome Back, ICS Beloved Community!
I hope everyone had a chance to rest, relax, and recharge over the summer—we all needed it to gear up for this exciting school year. My family and I had an unforgettable adventure in Portugal, discovering the rich history and culture, and of course, savoring the delicious food.
The rest of the summer was incredibly productive around ICS as we worked diligently on several key initiatives. We attended a national charter school conference to learn best practices, completed and presented our three-year strategic plan to the board, and finished various building updates and repairs.
It’s with renewed energy and a shared vision, that we are ready to begin charting new territory at ICS! This school year we’re challenging ourselves to push boundaries, think bigger, ask daring questions, and explore and implement innovative solutions.
We are at a pivotal point where the decisions we make today will impact ICS’s trajectory for decades to come. Charting new territory is not just a slogan; it is a call to action. It’s about embracing change, fostering creativity, and cultivating a culture of excellence and innovation.
In the coming months, you will see new initiatives and programs designed to enhance our students’ learning experiences and expand our community partnerships. We are introducing innovative curriculum development, integrating new technology, and adopting interdisciplinary approaches that will revolutionize how our students learn and grow.
Our classrooms will become vibrant hubs of discovery, where creativity and critical thinking thrive.
Our expanding partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and educational institutions will open doors to new possibilities. These relationships will provide our students with unique opportunities and resources, preparing them for a future full of promise and potential.
Exploring new programs means implementing diverse extracurricular activities, sports, arts, and STEM programs that cater to every interest and talent. At ICS, every student will find a place to shine and pursue their passions.
Our commitment to infrastructure improvements means upgrading our current facilities to create a dynamic learning environment while continuing to explore ways to expand and grow. Our students deserve the best, and we are dedicated to providing it!
