Embark on a transformational journey with us
Letter from the Executive Director
Last spring, the ICS Beloved Community gathered to dedicate our new playground. The students had been dreaming of a new space to play and seeing that dream come to life was a big win for us all and a beautiful example of what can happen when we come together. Throughout this Impact Report, you’ll see that many of our collective dreams were realized during the 2023-2024 school year, reaffirming our vision for the future.
As we look ahead, the possibilities are endless, and we’re excited to begin Charting New Territory! With your continued support, we’ll keep pushing boundaries and turning even the most ambitious dreams into reality. We’re not just imagining a brighter future—we’re creating it. Stay tuned for exciting new initiatives and programs that will enrich our students’ learning experiences, foster holistic family engagement, and expand our partnerships.
Our community school will be a hub for children, families, and community members to Learn, Live, and Thrive together!
Thank you for being a vital part of the next chapter in our Transformational Journey!
Best,
Fran Carroll, ICS Executive Director
Impact By the numbers
In the 2023-2024 school year, we achieved several milestones from academics to family engagement to school operations:
- Expanded Student Engagement: Over 85% of at-risk or chronically absent students improved their attendance, and 56% of our students participated in afterschool enrichment programs.
- Academic Growth: We were named a “Literacy Leader” by the Georgia Department of Education, and 67% of our English Language Learner (ELL) students achieved at least one level of band growth.
- Community Impact: We held 107 home visits, distributed 45,629 pounds of food, and celebrated our most diverse UN Day yet, with participation from 74 different nations.
- Recognition and Awards: Our students excelled in various activities, including winning the YMCA Spring Soccer Tournament and achieving a top 25 placement in the Science Olympiad. We also saw our teacher and staff members being recognized as Master Gardeners, a testament to our commitment to experiential learning.
These successes were made possible thanks to strong donor support, which also support initiatives like our new playground, which opened this spring, and our first “Dash at Dawn” 5K event, promoting physical activity and community engagement.
As we look ahead, we are excited to continue Charting New Territory with you this school year. Its through partnerships with our community that allows us to push boundaries, enrich our students’ learning experiences, and foster a community where children from around the world learn, live, and thrive together!
