Grow with ICs

A new year often brings new possibilities, and at ICS, it also brings growth. We are growing in enrollment, in impact, and in opportunity, and we are actively looking for educators and leaders who want to grow with us.

As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, ICS is entering an exciting season of intentional expansion—one that invites talented, mission-driven educators to step into meaningful roles and help shape what comes next.

A Growing School, A Thoughtful Plan

ICS is growing not by accident, and not without care. When our school first opened over 23 years ago, we were a small community with a big vision serving 125 students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. For the 2026–2027 school year, we will proudly serve approximately 550 students, up from just over 400 only a few years ago. Growth of this kind requires more than adding classrooms; it requires investment in people, systems, and leadership.

As an IB World School rooted in Beloved Community, instructional excellence, and joyful learning, we believe growth must always be paired with sustainability and strong support for both students and staff.

Strengthening Leadership to Better Serve Students

In response to staff feedback and aligned with our strategic plan, ICS is expanding our leadership and instructional support team for the 2026–2027 school year. We are currently hiring:

  • Two Assistant Principals
    • One serving Grades K–2
    • One serving Grades 3–5
  • One additional Gifted Teacher

These roles are not about adding more layers of authority, but about increasing our capacity to serve students, staff, and families well. When leaders have the time and space to coach, support, and build relationships, everyone benefits.

Our Assistant Principals are highly visible, hands-on leaders who:

  • Lead with both rigor and humanity
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students, staff, and families
  • Support high-quality instruction through coaching and feedback
  • Value inclusive, culturally responsive practices
  • Thrive in collaborative, team-oriented environments

These additions directly respond to the feedback we’ve received from our staff and are designed to strengthen instructional support and maintain the strong culture and consistency that make ICS a special place to learn and work.

Investing in Our Gifted Learners

Nearly 20% of ICS students are identified as gifted, compared to about 7% in a typical school. Our strategic plan explicitly names the importance of identifying and supporting students with exceptionalities, and adding a second Gifted Teacher is a critical step in living out that commitment.

This role will strengthen support for gifted learners while deepening collaboration with classroom teachers, helping students reach their full potential.

A Place Where Educators Stay—and Grow

One of the things I am most proud of at ICS is our people. We don’t just hire great educators—we invest in them. With a 95% staff retention rate, ICS is a place where teachers and leaders feel valued, supported, and empowered to grow.

We offer:

  • Meaningful professional development as an IB World School
  • Mentorship and coaching
  • Leadership pathways for educators who want to deepen or broaden their impact
  • A diverse, mission-driven community where relationships matter

Ms. Htwe Htwe, our Family Engagement Coordinator, has been part of the ICS community for 21 years, starting as a parent volunteer, becoming a teacher’s assistant, and now a beloved voice on our administration team. Reflecting on her experience, she shared, “I always said that ICS is my second home. You can’t find a school like ours anywhere. Our students are from all around the world. They feel safe, and every day they’re happy to come to ICS ready to learn. You can’t imagine how enjoyable it is to come and work. We, as a staff, are also from different countries, and we always share our food and stories with each other.”
