To apply for enrollment at ICS, please fill out an application on SchoolMint!
Applications for the 2026-27 school year will open on October 1, 2025.
Kindergarten applications for the 2026-27 school year will close on December 10, 2025. The lottery for Kindergarten enrollment will take place on Zoom on December 11, 2025.
1st-5th Grade applications for the 2026-27 school year will close on February 4, 2026. The lottery for 1st-5th Grades will take place on Zoom on February 5, 2026.

When is the application for the 2026-2027 school year available?
Yes. We require that you reside in DeKalb County, and NOT in the city of Decatur. You may check your status through the district website HERE.
When is the application for the 2026-2027 school year available?
The 2026-27 application will open on October 1, 2025. Parents may apply online at icsgeorgia.schoolmint.com.
How old does my child need to be to start Kindergarten?
ALL children entering Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 1st and ALL children entering First Grade must be 6 years old on or before September 1st .
Does ICS offer Pre-K and Middle School?
ICS serves Kindergarten through Grade 5.
Can I apply if I don’t live in Dekalb County but will move to Dekalb before school starts?
No, you must reside in DeKalb County to even be considered for the lottery.
If I work for Dekalb County Schools, do I get priority consideration?
No, you will only receive priority consideration if the student is a sibling to a current ICS student; or a child of a staff member or a board member.
Is there a cost to attend ICS?
No, there is no cost to attend ICS. We are a DeKalb County Public Charter School and there are no fees associated with attendance.
If I applied last year, do I need to apply again this year?
Yes, you must apply for admission each year if you want to be considered for admission. The waitlist list DOES NOT ROLL OVER from year to year.
When are applications due for the next lottery?
The lottery deadline for the 2025-26 school year deadline is December 10, 2025 for kindergartners and February 4, 2026 for first graders through 5th graders. All applications that come in after these dates go on our waitlist.
If I have multiple children do I submit two applications?
Yes, if you have multiple children, you must submit a separate application for each student.
Can I apply to ICS and another school?
Yes, you can apply to ICS and another school.
Can I get help completing the application?
Yes, if you need help or translation services, please contact the school to arrange for you to come to the school for assistance. If you do not have a computer, you can call the school to arrange for a time to come in and use a computer.
When will the next lottery be held?
The kindergarten lottery will happen on December 11, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. The 1st-5th Grade lottery will happen on February 6, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Lotteries will be held virtually.
What happens if I miss the lottery?
Your child will be placed on the waitlist after everyone who was included in the lottery. You will be placed on the waitlist based on the date and time of your electronic application submission.
How will I know if my child gets selected through the lottery?
You will receive an email from SchoolMint to the address you submitted with your application. The email will instruct you to accept or decline. You will also receive details on the next steps to officially register your child.
What if my child does not get selected at the lottery?
Your child will be placed on the waitlist in the order they land after the actual lottery selection. The system will keep you updated on your waitlist status as the list moves.
