A community always has needs, and ours is much like this.

Parents are expected to participate in building community by volunteering time and/or other resources. Currently a 10 hour annual volunteer commitment is expected of each family.

Food Coop

20161019_104932The ICS Food Co-op has been operating for more than 10 years.  It is a supplemental food program designed for those most in need in the ICS commuity.  Our food co-op provides free food items once per month, usually every 3rd Wednesday, throughout the entire year.

Volunteers are always needed at different levels of involvement, according to their availability. There is space for everyone. They work together to order and pick up food from both the Atlanta Community Food Bank and the Georgia State Farmer’s Market. This food is picked up and delivered to the ICS campus by volunteer drivers. It is then sorted and divided, starting at 10 am. Families who are able pick up their allotments, and volunteers deliver food to homes of those families who do not have their own vehicle.

If you are interested in volunteering with us either as a driver, food sorter, or would simply like to learn more about our food co-op, contact Jennifer Kapner at [email protected].

This year IPTSO has helped to take on the administrative task of monitoring hours and helping to facilitate engagement through a volunteer organization committee. Please continue to sign in and out at the front desk to help us with this process!

If you are looking for volunteer ideas at ICS, some are listed below. If you are currently volunteering for Soccer, Kilometer Kids or another activity which requires volunteer hours on the weekends please email me at [email protected].

Thank you all for your continued support and volunteer service!
