ICS maintains a commitment to academic excellence, while also providing extracurricular offerings that enhance social development. Some of these options are through the activities after school.

The After School Program is a paid program and fees must be paid before the beginning of the month to receive services.

Students are expected to adhere to the same discipline rules that apply during school hours.

ICS after school will be closed on all days when school is not in session.

For more information, please refer to the flyer and the schedule.

To register, please fill out the After School Registration Form, and bring it to the school’s office.

To participate in athletic activities (Kilometer Kids running, tennis and/or soccer) without enrolling in after school, please fill out the After School Activity Form.

Some of the enrichment activities and clubs are:

Soccer Program: About one-third of the student body participates in ICS’s soccer program ; its 15 teams make the ICS soccer program one of the largest public elementary soccer programs in the state. The program, run by volunteers, brings students and families together in the form of a supportive network that breaks down cultural boundaries and inhibitions. These teams are part of the Deccatur-DeKalb YMCA (DDY) Soccer league.

Running and Tennis: Many students participate in after school tennis sponsored by the United States Tennis Association, and Kilometer Kids running program sponsored by Atlanta Track Club. These offerings are led by volunteers.

Performing Arts: Run by Deb Calabria, professional theater director and play writer.

Other after school activities that have been offered at ICS include Science Olympiad, Technology Club, and gardening.
