Overview

ICS curriculum follows the Georgia Performance Standards taught within the framework of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. A challenging international program, the IBPYP enables students to employ an investigative, inquiry-based approach to learning. English, mathematics, science, and social studies are taught in this integrated framework, emphasizing cross-disciplinary thinking, problem-solving and personal wellness.

Further setting ICS apart is the commitment to every child studying art, music and physical education as a part of their regular instruction.

All students also study a second language. Native speakers of languages other than English must go through a rigorous ESL program before joining their classmates in either French or Spanish.

A commitment to foreign language study, art, music, drama and physical education is one of the things that sets ICS apart from other schools.

The strength of ICS lies in its focus on educating the whole child, seeking to develop the innate curiosity of students while celebrating cultural differences in a challenging, nurturing and intentionally multi-ethnic environment.
